Jim Colbert joined the Senior PGA Tour in 1991, a year in which he won 3 times and was named the Senior PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. Jim claimed his first Arnold Palmer Award and Player of the Year honors in 1995 setting a record with official earnings. In 1996, Jim won 5 times and once again the Arnold Palmer award and Player of the Year honors. 1997 saw both Arnold Palmer and Jim successfully battle prostate cancer, and in 1998, along with CAP CURE, they began the Senior PGA Tour for the CURE. This program has increased awareness and research support for the most commonly diagnosed non-skin cancer in the United States.
