In 1922, Gene Sarazen the \"Squire\" became one of the youngest players ever to win a major championship when he won both the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship. In 1923, he successfully defended his PGA Championship title. Sarazen won eight times in 1930. In 1932, he won both the British and U.S. Opens. In 1933, Sarazen captured the PGA Championship. In 1935, Gene Sarazen made \"the shot heard around the world\", a double eagle on the 15th hole of Augusta National to win the 1935 Masters. Gene was the first player to capture the career Grand Slam.
