Blend No. 55
Ceylon and Assam Black Teas and Natural Essence of Bergamot
A flavor somewhat superior to traditional Earl Grey. Fragrant Ceylon Dimbulla and Uva are artfully combined with select teas from Indias Assam valley, then scented with the essence of bergamot form the realm of Reggio Calabria, Italy.
This small batch of tea was personally crafted for you by Steven Smith, teamaker. To fashion a true Lord Bergamot, one begins with a higher class of Ceylons and Assams than used in traditional Earl Grey formulas. To these we add the perfume of oils squeezed from thick-skinned bergamot, a citrus fruit grown on small family plots in southern Italy. Its a process similar to pressing olives. We know the Earl would be envious.
Inside the Smith Sachet
The shape is not unusual, but the artistry inside is unique. Our roomy, relaxed fit sachet encourages greater expansion to give you better flavor. Its also biodegradable. After steeping, you can sashay straight to the compost heap.
Steven Smith Teamaker - The most uncommon name in tea. ~Since 1949
