After a perfect regular season which saw the tide roll to a 12-0 regular season record they faced off in a rematch of 2008s SEC title game with the then-1 Florida Gators for the SEC Championship Game in Georgia. Behind a stellar defensive performance and Mark Ingrams huge 113 yard 3 TD performance the Tide rolled over the Gators 32-13. The tide then marched past the Texas Longhorns 37-21 on their way to the 13th national championship in school history.
